What happens when you cross a board game with an interactive radio play? We have been working on this question and the development of such a game over the last few months. We want to give you soon a little insight into our project.

HOW TO PLAY
In the "Narrator's Edition*" of the game, you experience the story through a number of radio play sequences that guide you through the story and provide you with clues and traces.

With the help of the clues you discover, the game board and various tools, such as the travel guide or the phone book, you can identify people and places and "travel" there with the app by entering the coordinates from the game board.
If you find the right clues, the story continues. The branching storylines keep challenging you with choices and give you the opportunity to approach the cases in a variety of ways.

ABOUT THE GAME

Shanghai “The Nevernight City'' is a neo-noir style crime board game that incorporates interactive and decision-based story sequences in a new way.

In this game, players take on the roles of detectives and cooperate to solve cases in colonial Shanghai of the 1920s.
A primary of the game design is the immersive gaming experience. Thus, all stories in this board game are perceived in the form of carefully staged interactive sequences that guide players through the stories and provide them with important clues and leads to the case at hand.

The detailed game board is not only beautiful to look at, but also allows players to discover important visual clues and leads to follow up on or verify. The ability to combine all kinds of clues and traces is the key to success.
The stories in this game are not linear and can develop very differently depending on your approach and the way you play.

THE WORLD

China in the 1920s. For years, the young republic has been ravaged by a cruel civil war. While warlords split the country among themselves and fight for supremacy, new ideological forces rise up to rule the Middle Kingdom. But in the midst of all this chaos lies a metropolis, a metropolis on the upswing.

Shanghai, "THE NEVERNIGHT CITY". Shanghai is more than a colony, Shanghai is a hub for global trade and as such the gateway to China desired by the West. This city of contradictions is for some a safe haven where one can live in prosperity and pleasure, for others it is a den of iniquity where violence rules, opium trade booms and greed is the measure of all things.

It is a city where people do not trust the police and prefer to rely on private detectives when something needs to be done. Welcome to the dark corners of Shanghai.
